CAMPAIGN FOR NATIONAL INDEPENDENCE

Was, is and shall remain in favour of Maltese workers

and against Malta's membership of the European Union

WE SWEAR TO FREE MALTA FROM THE SLAVERY, COLONIALISM AND DICTATORIAL ILLEGAL EUROPEAN UNION RULE

TELL YOUR PARLIAMENTARY DEPUTY  THAT YOU WANT MALTA TO REGAIN INDEPENDENCE AND FREEDOM

In the seven years 2007 – 2014 the Maltese and Gozitans are going to pay the European Union €420,000,000

The EU values are not suitable for us

While the German Chancellor Angela Merkel is saying that she wants the European Union Constitution to mention its Christian roots, in many Union countries they are not even allowed to wish a merry Christmas to each other because they cannot mention the birth of the Child Jesus, on the pretext so as not to offend the sentiments of those who do not believe in Christ.

Prior to the referendum on membership in the European Union they used to encourage us to vote in favour of membership to strengthen our Christian values.

Today, after three years, we are finding that in the European Union we cannot mention that we are Christians and we can never do anything in public that shows our Christian faith.

In many Union countries they cannot put cribs or the image of the Child Jesus in Shop windows.

In greeting cards they cannot mention Christmas or the Epiphany.

No reference can be made to the Christian religious belief.

Let alone can we strengthen our Christian beliefs that were planted with the birth of the Messiah two thousand and six years ago in Palestine.

In some European Union countries they cannot hang crucifixes in classrooms and neither can they start school with a prayer, and teachers cannot wear religious objects which can be seen, let alone train the students in Christian values.

In many European Union countries the holiness of the family is considered as old stuff and has no place in today’s modern times.

Marriage is not considered as a bond but as an agreement that one can withdraw from and not necessarily between a man and a woman, and pregnancy can be terminated whenever you want.

Whatever comes your way you can do it as long as you make a profit or enjoy yourself, and not whether it is good or bad.

Your God is profit and enjoyment, and you only care for your neighbours as long as it suits you.

These are the European Union values – a blasphemy against Christian values.

With membership in the European Union our traditional values are threatened and will be more threatened in future as the pressure is increased every day for our people to be like the other Union people because otherwise we would be considered as backward and inferior people.

Instead of understanding how our traditional values are far better than those of many of the Union countries, the mania is increasing among us to deny them because the European Union has other values that, because they are Union values, we consider them to be superior to ours.

The European Union rules do not help us to keep untouched our solid values because they force us to do according to what the Union considers to be right, when this is against that which we we have always believed and embraced.

The worst proof of this threat to our traditional values is what the Union dictates in the Constitution that it drafted which in Article 11-81 refers to the “sexual orientation” of a person.

The Union prohibits us from taking into consideration a person’s sexual orientation in our relationship with it.

This means that you are not allowed not to employ a person that you know will cause you harm because of its particular sexual attractions, because if you do so you will be accused of discrimination and with a breach of the fundamental right of that person.

When they told us that with membership in the Union we strengthen our Christian values, they deceived us.

It is not the fault of the people they deceived.

It would be our fault if now that we have become aware of the deceit we do not work to get away from it as soon as possible.

We shall not remain ruled by the Union.

With membership we went backwards

Thirty two months after we became members in the European Union on 1 May 2004, many Maltese families admit without any hesitation that they have moved backwards not forward, contrary to all the promises that were made to us prior to the referendum about membership in the Union.

The vast majority of families with the income or wages that they have

* cannot buy or

* build a home,

    because with membership in the European Union the prices of

* land and

* buildings

    have vastly increased, much, much more than the increase in wages or families income.

With membership in the European Union the cost of living has increased much more than the wages or income of the vast majority of the Maltese and Gozitan families have increased.

But for a few among us membership in the Union was beneficial, while for the masses it was harmful.

The families of

* many workers and

* employed persons

*  who lost their job because of membership in the Union or

* suffered a reduction in their working conditions,

membership in the Union brought them

* great suffering and

* difficulties.

Among them are

* the Shipyard workers,

* those of Sea Malta,

* the employees of many factories that have

* closed or

* were downsized.

With membership in the Union,

* the chicken producers,

* Air Malta employees and those of the

* Public Broadcasting Services suffered losses.

Losses were also suffered by

* milk and

* meat producers,

* many farmers, and

* fishermen who have now seen a reduction in the amount of fish that they can catch.

With membership in the Union

* the tourism industry has also suffered a loss, as has happened in the case of

* the manufacturing industry

The income from

* the exports of products and from

* the sales of services were

* reduced instead of

* increased

as they had promised us would happen when we join the big European Union common market.

Foreign enterprises took over Maltese enterprises and their profits are going out of our country and are not increasing Maltese people’s wealth as used to happen prior to membership in the Union when the enterprises profit was for the Maltese people and not for foreigners.

The greatest examples of Maltese enterprises that ended up in foreigners’ hands are the

* Mid-Med Bank and

* Maltacom.

HSBC bought cheaply the Maltese people’s bank, Mid-Med and now all the profit that HSBC makes goes to foreigners and out of our country.

A short while ago the Maltese people’s shares lost the profit that Maltacom used to make each year and the dividends that used to be paid to Maltese shareholders each year.

The loss for our people from membership in the European Union is going to increase over time, as is going to happen on 1 January 2008, when the gold and foreign reserves of the Central Bank of Malta will go to the European Union Bank as soon as we adopt the Euro instead of the Malta Lira.

Thus we will suffer the loss of the profit that the Central Bank of Malta makes each year and passes on to the Maltese Government which in the budget is estimated to be 11 million Malta Liri in 2007.

The European Union is not helping us with illegal immigrants

On the issue of illegal immigrants in our country, we concentrate all our attention on illegal immigrants and forget our brothers who

* guard them,

* take care of them,

* give them food and

* clean for them, while

* suffering their insults and

* their wrongful actions.

Although sometimes it is announced that some of the immigrants had escaped from where they are kept, there are many more times that the immigrants escape as much as they want and go back whenever they want to eat and sleep, without any information being given to the public about these abuses.

The immigrants have cut the fence that surrounds the place where they are kept and they go out and back in from the holes which they have cut in the fence without being prevented by anyone.

The cuts in the fence are tied up with a piece of plastic that is quickly removed without any problems by the immigrants who put it back in place after going through the fence.

The soldiers who guard them are ordered to stay in a wooden box in the cold and heat around the immigrants place, without having the power to shoot on the immigrants to stop them when they leave without permission.

The soldiers who clean the place where the immigrants stay and give them food are in a much worse situation than those soldiers who guard them, because they have to face the bad behaviour and the insults of many of the immigrants who are hostile and sometimes aggressive and of those immigrants who complain about the food and about everything.

It's not one or two of those soldiers who have contracted an infection or disease with the resultant harm for themselves and a danger for their families.

If you go to the place where the immigrants are kept, you will be struck by the run-down environment, but you will be struck nothing less with the worst circumstances that the soldiers who take care of them are in.

Nonetheless, when the soldiers brought the attention to the very bad state which they are in, the volunteers readily answered them that they have nothing to do with them, but that they only care about the immigrants situation.

The length of time that they are kept in one place leads immigrants to be more violent while the weight of responsibility on the soldiers who guard them constantly increases, as well as the great expense for the country in soldiers wages, as well as free water and electricity services, medical care, food and clothing.

There should never be any hope that some immigrants will at some time be allowed to live and work in our country.

It is therefore in their interests that they should quickly know their future.

They should either be sent back to their country or helped to go to the countries where they were going when they landed or were brought to our country, without their intention of remaining here.

It’s a great shame for our people that we do not have serious leaders who have the guts and the ability to take these decisions about illegal immigrants because they are afraid of criticism.

There is no doubt that the vast majority of Maltese and Gozitan people want concrete action to be taken so that we will not only prevent the problem from aggravating, but to overcome it without any more delay and harm that is being caused to our people and our country.

After all, we have to forget that the European Union is going to solve this problem for us.

If it wanted to do so, it would let us help the illegal immigrants who found themselves in our country to continue on their way to the EU countries.
