He was too kind to the European Union

It was with a certain satisfaction for us what was recently stated by a Member of the Maltese Parliament when he mentioned that the Government frequently talks about the millions of euros or Liri that are coming from the European Union, but never mentions the millions that we are sending to the European Union.

This deputy mentioned the Lm22 million that the Government is paying the European Union for its budget this year.

With these he also mentioned the Lm7 million each year that the Government has to incur as subsidies to the farmers and which before our entry into the European Union were not incurred because our farmers did not have the harsh competition from European Union agricultural products.

Also mentioned were Lm11 million that we are losing from the Italian Protocol precisely because now we have entered into the European Union.

He continued to say that in another four years we shall probably lose our Objective One Status that today is making it possible for Malta to receive a higher amount of structural funds.

When the Objective One Status is lost the structural funds are drastically reduced.

According to the Maltese Parliament Deputy there remains in favor of Malta a balance of around Lm11 million when you deduct Lm40 million (Lm22+Lm11+Lm7 million) from the Lm51 million that are coming from the European Union.

For example, the loss of millions of Liri that the Central Bank of Malta will incur and that until today we are receiving on the foreign reserves of the Central Bank of Malta, because when we adopt the euro, Malta’s reserves become the foreign reserves of the European Central Bank.

There are enormous expenses – many more millions – that membership in the European Union is costing us because of the many structures that we have had to forcefully set up, such as all the Authorities that we have had to set up.

Who knows how many civil servants whose work, one can say, has now been connected with membership in the European Union and who are being paid from our pockets and not from the European Union?

And even if we had to count what the sovereignty that we have lost costs, how many more millions we would have to add to the others!

We remember what the Labour Party leaders used to say before the referendum.

They used to say that if we had to calculate sovereignty, “how much will we lose, Lm50 million? Lm100 million? Lm200 million each year? You cannot say because sovereignty is priceless”.

If serious and independent auditing had to be carried out about what we are receiving from the European Union and what membership is costing us, the Maltese people will be amazed and understand how they have been deceived by those who were not ashamed to make our country again a foreigner’s colony, after boasting so much that they had made Malta independent.

The European Union indoctrinates school children

Although the new European Union Constitution cannot enter into effect because the French and Dutch people voted against it, the European Commission wants school children of the Union member countries to be given to understand that the Constitution has entered into effect.

The European Commission published a textbook about the European Union that was distributed to 120,000 boys and girls in Union member countries primary schools.

In this book, a good person who goes by the name of Father Houpette explains to two school children what the Union is and how it works.

He tells them that they are going to understand how much the European Union is necessary.

In a chapter that refers to the new European Union Constitution, the two school children are seen reading about the rules and regulations fixed on the walls of the school sports hall.

Father Houpette is telling them that a little while ago, new regulations were made to the Union like those that the two children are seeing on the walls of the sports hall.

He continues telling them that the Union, with this new Constitution, is going to work flawlessly, similar to a clock, the same as happens in the two children’s club.

In the book that was issued by the Commission nowhere is it mentioned that the people of France and the Netherlands had refused that Union Constitution.

Many have condemned the European Commission for this book that was intended to indoctrinate the children.

They compared it to the propaganda that the Communists used to carry out on children, or to the youths brainwashing propaganda that Dr Goebbels used to make during Hitler’s time.

Liam Fox, the English Shadow Minister for Foreign Affairs, harshly criticized this European Commission book.

He said that it clearly appears that the European Commission wants to hammer the new Union Constitution into the minds of children, notwithstanding the existence of democratic objections to it (among them the French and Dutch objections).

And to do so, the Commission is making use of propaganda that is more fitting of Eastern European countries dominated by the Soviet Union.

Fox continued to say that what is to be detested is that this propaganda for school children is being made from funds coming from taxes that are paid by the people of Union countries.

We are sorry to say that brainwashing and indoctrination of school children is also being made in Malta.

A new tax for fishermen because of the European Union

Many sectors of the Maltese people were deceived by the deceitful propaganda that was made prior to the European Union membership referendum.

Among them, there are the fishermen that will now find another new tax being imposed on them because of the Union regulations.

They are now telling the fishermen that they have to call a fisheries inspector to inspect and weigh their fish before it is landed.

This is an order by the European Union to ensure that the fishermen did not catch fish smaller than the European Union regulations permit, apart from knowing how much fish had been caught by fishermen so that they will not exceed the quota allocated to the Maltese fishermen.

We know that a later on, they are going to start giving quotas to fishermen about how much fish they can catch, and are going to be given the place where each fisherman can go to fish.

The European Union also orders inspections of the places allocated to the fishermen, so as to be able to see whether they are fishing in places for which they are not licensed.

Not only. A little later, the Maltese and Gozitan fishermen will have to pay for different licences to be able to fish for different fish.

And if they catch fish for which they are not licensed, they will either have to throw it away or else will be fined if they try to land it.

So that the Union would know where each fisherman is fishing, it wants satellite apparatus that marks exactly the place where the fishermen are to be fitted

Through the satellite apparatus, the Union would see to it that Maltese and Gozitan fishermen would not fish in places for which they are not licensed.

It also sees to it that once the allocated quota had been reached, the fishermen will not go out to fish any more, because it would be known by means of the satellite apparatus whether they have moved and where they went.

Like other sectors of the population that have been deceived by propaganda in favour of membership in the Union, they have only one means to eliminate this trouble.

Get together with the other sectors of the population who want to leave the Union.

We ask Dr Joanna Drake that represents the European Union in Malta whether the signing of the Treaty of Rome that was made on 25 March 1957 and which was made on “a lot of blank papers” as has been uncovered in the BBC World Service Radio 4 programme on the eve of the 50 anniversary, has a legal basis?

• If it did not have a legal basis, can she tell us whether the leaders of the six countries who had signed a blank document, had ever met again and signed the proper document with all the articles of the treaty? Can she tell us when and where was this signing held?

Dedicated to the European Union that hid a secret for 50 years!

1. Who would have dreamed that that which they had signed! Of the Rome Treaty that had been made, was the greatest play that had ever been staged in Rome, and that it was a play no one had managed to realize!

2. 50 years ago, after a lot of hard work, they signed a document without realizing what was missing! The document that the European leaders had signed, was a lot of blank papers, that were nothing worth!

3. Who would have told the journalists and the many guests that the farce that was played would remain hidden for years! And that it had to be exactly on the 50^th anniversary that on that fraud would the curtain be raised!

4. On the 9^th of May – Europe Day – I wish to propose, that the Maltese and the Gozitans a lesson should learn. On that day in Valletta, Dr Joanna Drake, should cut a big pie, instead of cutting a cake!

(The expression "a pie" in Maltese means when someone botches something. A "big pie" is a big botch up)
