WELCOME TO THE CNI WEBPAGE

CAMPAIGN FOR NATIONAL INDEPENDENCE

Was, is and shall remain in favour of Maltese workers

and against Malta's membership of the European Union

WE SWEAR TO FREE MALTA FROM THE SLAVERY, COLONIALISM AND DICTATORIAL ILLEGAL EUROPEAN UNION RULE

The European Union ordered that as from 2010 the Maltese and Gozitan people pay it €182,192 daily stolen from your childrens mouths

Membership in the EU has belittled the Maltese Parliament

Although the Advocate Toni Abela tells us “I do not agree with you”, we agree with him in what he wrote last Sunday about the Maltese Parliament.

He said that he is afraid that the oceanic process of laws that our country receives from the European Union is making our Parliament a Second Division one.

Our deputies, even if they wanted, cannot keep up with the tsunami of laws that the Union sends them.

The Advocate Toni Abela says that even if our deputies would want to change parts of the laws that the Union sends them they cannot do so, because with the treaty of membership of Malta in the Union, the Maltese Parliament accepted that everything that comes in the form of laws from the Union must not be touched or changed by the Maltese Parliament.

More than this, the Maltese Parliament accepted that any law that is not in conformity or compatible with any European Union law is considered to be a law without any effect.

Toni Abela complained that the humiliation of our Parliament is greater because while its law may be attacked by every Maltese citizen and everyone can ask the Court to decide that a law which the Maltese Parliament had made is against our country’s Constitution, in the case of a European Union law they cannot do so.

While the Maltese citizens can make use of an abrogative referendum to overthrow a law of the Maltese Parliament, they cannot do so to a law sent to us by the European Union, even if it is against the Constitution of Malta.

A forest of laws

Advocate Abela said that the most impressing is the way that the Union makes a large quantity of directives and regulations on everything of no importance.

It as if the Union’s regiment of bureaucratic officials want to justify their salaries by inventing as many laws as possible, such as how much can be the curviture of a cucumber and a banana, and even how big can a button be and how many holes it should have, and even what type of ink must be used in the printing of the law.

They draft laws without considering the cultural and social differences of the member countries of the Union.

Toni Abela comments that the forest of laws that the European Union makes were not even made by the Soviet Union Kremlin at its zenith.

What has happened to the Maltese Parliament, asks Dr Abela?

He does not give an answer except that he observes that the Maltese Parliament today is like a big cage of parrots because it now looks like a cage of words.

Birds are not killed, children are

“Without abortion we shall stop the money”.

This is being said by the European Union to the Nicaragua Government, as was so well reported by the able journalist, Victor Vella of “L-Orizzont” in its 12 February issue.

On 30 November last year, in this same CNI page, we had an article with the title:

“Hunting and abortion in the European Union”.

At the time we had compared the fact that the European Union does not want Maltese and Gozitan hunters to hunt in Spring for turtledoves and quail so that they would have a chance to continue to go to Europe where they nest and have their off-springs, with the fact that the same EU accepts the killing of babies who have not yet been born, but who are already living.

For the European Union, the off-springs of quails and turtledoves are more important than the babies of human beings and it protects them more.

If perhaps on 30 November there was someone who thought that we were exaggerating, today he thinks otherwise after having read the 12 February report by journalist Victor Vella, and says that we were right.

In the report we have read how it was revealed in Catholic journals that the European Union is putting pressure on the Government of Nicaragua to remove a law that it had passed last year against all types of abortion.

According to the Catholic News Agency, the European Union representatives threatened to stop the economic assistance to Nicaragua if the country does not remove that law that protects the life of unborn babies.

The representative of the European Union in Nicaragua, Marc Livine, was quoted as saying:

“The European Union considers that legal abortion is associated with assistance programmes against poverty and part of women rights”.

We have written several times in this page and said on Smash TV that the European Union not only does not have a social soul, but it does not even have a soul.

This Nicaragua story confirms how right we were to say so.

We then see the unlimited hypocrisy of the European Union when it says that it does not agree and does not want that even those who commit the most heineous crimes, including murder, be given the death penalty.

It showed this clearly when it insisted that the ex-President Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein, should not be killed notwithstanding that he was responsible for the deaths of hundreds, if not thousands, of Iraqis.

The same European Union is not only accepting the killing of innocent unborn babies when it lets its member countries commit abortion, but is “itself” insisting for the removal of a law against abortion.

Thus, the European Union wants the killing of innocent babies that are not even given the right to be born, while it wants turtledoves and quails to be born.

It’s not in vain that the “dictators” of the European Union did not want to mention the Christian roots of Europe in the European Constitution.

It appears that God did not want to let it go freely because the peoples of France and The Netherlands killed it!

Europe increases the price of petrol, diesel, electricity and water

When the prices of oil is sky-high, the EU ordered the governments of the member countries to make high taxes on oil products, such as petrol, diesel, and kerosene, on the pretext of reducing their demand.

In our country, the prices of these products also have a greater portion increased by taxes added by the government.

Now the Union again wants to increase the taxes on oil products and drafted a new directive that is going to be presented for the approval of the Council of Ministers of the Union countries.

The European Commission is proposing that from 2012

* the minimum tax on 1000 litres of fuel will be 359 Ewros and

* from 2014 the minmum tax on 1000 litres of fuel will be 380 Ewros, and

* from 2018 the tax will be increased to 400 Ewros for 1000 litres of fuel (240 gallons).

This means that every gallon of fuel will have around 72 cents (1.68 Ewros) tax imposed by the EU

According to the Forum Malta in Europe,

* presently the tax on diesel is 302 Ewros per 1000 litres

* that is going to be increased to 330 Ewros in 2010, while the

* tax on unleaded petrol is 359 Ewros per 1000 litres.

Every member country has to impose a tax on fuel that must not be less than the rate dictated by the Union, but can impose a higher tax.

There is no doubt that the taxes on oil products continue to increase the costs of production and of services and transport and increase as a consequence the price of everything.

These taxes increase the costs of water and electricity, and therefore have a big impact on families’ expenses and increase the cost of living.

If a government of a Union member country understands that it should not tax fuel or should lower taxes on fuel in the national interest it cannot do so, even though damage will be caused to the country if this is not done.

What the Union dictates comes before what the country requires.

This is the situation that Malta is in today following membership in the Union.

Prior to the referendum on membership in the Union, they used to assure the people that the Union does not interfere in the country’s taxes.

The taxes that the Union is imposing on oil products belie what the Union propagandists used to tell the people.

Even the VAT tax is the work of the European Union.

The same are the work of the European Union the environment tax and duties on objects that we import from countries who are not members in the Union.

We can get rid of all of them when we leave the European Union.

We have lost with membership

Since our country has become a member in the European Union, it became more difficult for workers who have lost their job to find alternative work, both because work has been reduced in many factories, as well as workers from the European Union have a right to work in Malta and take the work of Maltese and Gozitan workers.

From official information given to a parliamentary question it results that officially there are 2,759 workers from European Union countries working in Malta.

These are those known to the Government.

It appears that there are others who are not registered, but they are working in Malta instead of Maltese workers just the same.

It is the European Union’s fault that insists on the right of the freedom of movement of Union workers.

Through parliamentary questions it was learned that there are slightly more than 200 Maltese and Gozitans who went to work with the European Union.

This means that for every person that went to work from Malta with the European Union, 23 persons came to work in our country from the European Union.

Thus, we can see how we have lost because of membership in the European Union.

The Maltese and Gozitan workers have lost 2,559 jobs (2759 – 200) that were taken by European Union workers.

With the damage that the Maltese workers are suffering because of European Union workers who are taking away their bread from them, we have to include other damage that is being caused because of the hundreds of illegal immigrants that we have in our country, which is also the fault of the European Union.

The European Union regulations on illegal immigrants do not allow us to take the necessary measures so that the illegal immigrants do not remain in our country.

Some of them, after a certain time in our country, are given work instead of Maltese workers.

They are paid less than Maltese workers and therefore the employers prefer them to Maltese workers.

* The illegal immigrants that end up working in our country

* not only take the bread of Maltese workers,

* but are an expense on the country health services,

* consumption of electricity and water in the centres where they are kept by the Government,

* the wages of soldiers and policemen who are guarding them, and

* all the other expenses that the Government has with illegal immigrants.

The Government said that last year it spent nearly three and a half million Maltese liri on illegal immigration.

This money came from the people’s taxes and would have been spent for the benefit of the people had it not been used for illegal immigrants that the European Union regulations force us to keep in our country, notwithstanding that our country cannot bear the expense and does not have work to offer them because we do not have enough for all the Maltese and Gozitans.

We have really benefitted with membership in the European Union!
