CAMPAIGN FOR NATIONAL INDEPENDENCE

Was, is and shall remain in favour of Maltese workers

and against Malta's membership of the European Union

WE SWEAR TO FREE MALTA FROM THE SLAVERY, COLONIALISM AND DICTATORIAL ILLEGAL EUROPEAN UNION RULE

TELL YOUR PARLIAMENTARY DEPUTY THAT YOU WANT MALTA TO REGAIN INDEPENDENCE AND FREEDOM

 The European Union ordered that as from 2010 the Maltese and Gozitan people pay it €182,192 daily stolen from your childrens mouths

How much EU membership is costing us

We have for years been challenging the Government to give the details of how much is membership or better still the new Colonization of our country in the European Union is costing us.

They have never had the courage to accept our challenge because they know that if they do so, the people will become aware that they had greatly deceived them when they used to mention, and still mention, the great millions of euros that come from the European Union.

That is why a short report that appeared in this newspaper on 8 February under the title “Ministerial travelling is justified” was interesting.

In this report we read that the Minister for Justice appeared to have taken umbrage because in the l-Orizzont of 5 February an article appeared with the title “The Government

That is why a short report tat appeared in this newspaper on 8 February with the title “Ministerial Travelling is justified” was interesting.

In this report we read that the Minister of Justine appeared to take umbrage because in the 5 February l-Orizzont an article appeared with the title “The Government was miserly for the buying of a defibrillator for the Courts of Justice: €165,000 in the air”

These €165,000 are the money the Minister for Justice spent only on travelling.

The Ministerial answer only gives a smell indication of how we are right when we say that European Union membership is costing us much more than the funds that come from the EU.

Look what the Minister had to say: “The quoted figure of €165,000 for travelling were not spent by the Minister for Justice himself, but by the whole Ministry and were made to cover the various committees and commitments that, among others, the EU requires”.

Now this expense is only that which concerns the travelling of one Ministry.

It certainly does not include the salaries of those employees whose work in the Ministry one can say is connected with the laws and directives that are emanating from Brussels every week.

Then imagine if one had to calculate

* how much all the ministries together are spending,

* not only on travelling,

* but also in salaries of hundreds and hundreds,

* if not thousands,

* of civil service officers

* whose work is connected

* with Malta’s membership in the EU.

Then you have to add to them all those millions that the Government is forces to spend to obey the EU orders on privatization, or reform, of the Public Transport, etc etc.

We have already written about what resulted from the investigation that was conducted by a foreign organization that is specialized on EU affairs “OPEN EUROPE”.

This organization found out that the expense for Malta to apply the EU laws, regulations and directives is about €72.5 million every year.

It’s not in vain that notwithstanding all the blabbering about funds coming from the EU for this and that project, and much other hype, the Government debt is always increasing.

Let alone what will happen when many of the structural funds will dry up when Malta will no longer qualify for “Objective One” region status.

The EU policy is creating unemployment

Unemployment is the greatest failure of the EU policy.

Presently there are 23 million unemployed in the 27 Union countries.

In one of the countries, the unemployment rate reaches 22.8 percent.

The euro currency does not screen unemployment.

In one of the countries that adopted the euro,

* there are 4,300,000 unemployed,

* and the unemployment rate for those less 25 years is 44.5 percent.

In Malta, according to the latest official research, we have more than 12,000 seeking employment.

EU unemployment is not only due

* to the present economic and financial crisis

* in the world,

* but also,

* and in greater manner,

* due to the mistaken EU policy.

The EU shackles the governments of the member countries from implementing a policy with which work is provided to those whom the private sector does not succeed to employ.

Because the EU preaches that it is not the function of the state to provide work, but it is only the private sector in a free market that employs as much as the market can absorb.

This is according to the EU liberal-capitalist beliefs,

* on the contrary to the Christian social belief

* that imposes a duty on the state to assure

* the enjoyment of the right to work for everyone

* as the foundation of human dignity.

The EU unjust social policy

* that the Maltese Government is following

* promotes some society sectors forward

* and increase their wealth,

* while the other many sectors either stay back,

* or worse, fall back and approach poverty.

The unemployed millions are among the last.

Proof of the failure of the EU policy is given by the enormous protests that we are seeing happening in many EU cities.

The EU's answer

* for the social unrest that it is creating

* is not a change in policy,

* but the EU is arming the police

* to resist with arms

* the revolts that are expected to happen.

Malta pays €376 million subsidies to the UE

The Maltese Government insists that the European Union insists that no subsidies be paid in our country.

Everyone knows that with subsidies the people benefit. But not everyone realizes that it is the people who pay from the taxes that the government takes from them.

Therefore, after all, the people do not suffer with the payment of subsidies that the Government pays from the taxes that it collects from the people.

But there are subsidies that the Maltese people are being lumped with by paying them to foreigners.

The Government doesn’t tell the people that this year the Maltese people are going to pay the European Union a subsidy of €66,500,000.

Neither does it tell them that during these seven years that we have been Union members the Maltese people will have paid the Union subsidies that amount to  €376 million.

These subsidies are paid every year to the European Union and are suffered by all the Maltese people because the Government takes them from the taxes that it forces to people to pay.

When is the Maltese Government going to insist that these subsidies will no longer be paid?

The answer is one.

If the Maltese politicians

* continue to serve as puppets

* pulled by strings by the European Union,

* the Maltese people will have to continue to pay

* these subsidies to the Union.

The people have to decide to take our country out of the Union for these subsidies not to continue to be paid by the Maltese people to the European Union.

Few are those among the people who realize

* that every person in Malta per capita

* this year is going to pay a subsidy of €221 to the European Union

* (because €66,500,000 paid by 300,000 persons amount to €221 every year),

* and during the first seven years of membership in the Union

* every person in Malta per capita

* will have paid the Union the sum of €1253 in subsidies (

* €376 million paid by 300,000 persons).

These are figures taken from official Government information.

The atheist values of the European Union

Last week the majority of European Parliament Deputies voted in favour of a report where it is written that women

“shall have control over their sexual and reproductive rights by means of easy access to contraception and abortion”.

When I read the report on l-Orizzont about the vote taken in the EP I remembered when some from the higher hierarchy of the Church in our country had said that if Malta becomes an EU member, we shall be able “to export our Christian values to Europe”.

In Malta we frequently hear panegyrics and homilies against abortion.

There is also an organization that has long been preaching in favour of life and against abortion, and as soon as someone says something that can be understood as agreeing with abortion in certain particular circumstances, such as in the case of rape, this organization springs on him/her like a savage tiger.

That is why I now expect both this organization as well as the Ecclesiastical Authorities to condemn the EP on its vote to

“easy access to abortion”.

I remember as if it was yesterday a very high prelate of the Church in Malta saying that he considers EU membership as a pair of new shoes that when you put it on for the first time you feel it a little bit tight, but by time your feet will get used to it.

Are we going to see even the Ecclesiastical Authorities getting “used to” the tightening of the anti-Christian, or atheist values, such as “easier abortion”, and continue to remain silent perhaps not to hurt those who made Malta a member in the “ATHEIST” European Union?

Membership in the Schengen Area is damaging for Mata

All the bragging that we have become members in the Schengen Area on the strength of our membership in the European Union is causing us great damage now that Libya has stopped issuing visas to Schengen Area citizens, including Malta.

Because of this,

* many Maltese who need to go to Libya

* for work or trade

* cannot go there

* as long as there is the issue that the Libyans have

* with the Schengen countries.

Although the issue that the Libyans have is not with Malta,

* we are hit just the same

* because we hurried to become Schengen Area members,

* when the United Kingdom and other Union countries

* remained outside.

Membership in the Schengen Area is not doing us any good.

On the contrary it is causing us damage

* because whenever a country has an issue with the Schengen Area

* our country becomes involved

* even though it has got nothing to do with the issue.

But Schengen membership is also damaging to us

* because the removal of passport and customs control

* for persons coming from the Schengen countries

* reduced our control on foreigners who enter our country

* and thus our security has been weakened.

As regards Libya, our membership in the European Union and the Schengen Area has caused us damage.

Because while prior to membership there was no need for a visa for Libyans to come to Malta and for us to go to Libya, following membership the Maltese Government had to accept to introduce the visa.

The consequences of this measure was that Libyan tourists numbers have greatly decreased and trade that Maltese citizens used to carry out with Libyans has also decreased greatly.

We should have never accepted the imposition of the visa from the European Union on Libyans who come to Malta.

If the European Union does not want Libyans to go to it without a visa,

* we could and should have just the same provided that they could still come to Malta without a visa

* but couldn’t continue to go to the other union countries without a visa.

Thus the Union would not have reduced the control it feels it has to do on the Libyans.

On our side

* we do not need to make such control,

* as we did not make any control when all Europe

* and the United States of America

* imposed sanctions on Libya,

* and we used to have a ship full of Libyans

* coming here and going back to Libya every day.

Because of the European Union

* we have put aside all controls on the criminals

* who come from the Union countries,

* and imposed unwarranted control on people who are not criminals

* but simply because they are Libyans.

This is the discrimination practiced by the European Union.
