WELCOME TO THE CNI WEBPAGE
CAMPAIGN FOR NATIONAL INDEPENDENCE

Was, is and shall remain in favour of Maltese workers
and against Malta's membership of the European Union
The European Union ordered that as from 2010 the Maltese and Gozitan people pay it €182,192 daily stolen from your childrens mouths
The Ewro – they are not telling the truth
Notwithstanding
that the committee responsible for the changeover of the Maltese Lira to the
Ewro (NECC) is
constantly making unbridled propaganda that is costing thousands
of liri (Lm700,000 this year) to try and drug the Maltese people that with the
introduction of the Ewro on 1 January 2008 “only the currency will be changed
and not the prices”, in truth that committee knows that what they are saying
is not true.
And, as we CNI like to do, we will bring you the evidence.
In the adverts that you see and hear, they always mention that for the first six
months, the traders will be obliged by law to show the products that they sell
with the two prices – with the Maltese Lira and with the Ewro.
But they are not explaining how, those who offer services can show their price or tariff with the two prices.
There are thousands of people who give services to the people and they fall in different categories.
Let us mention only a few:
advocates, architects, dentists, painters, plumbers, electricians, mechanics, physiotherapists, teachers who give private lessons, hair dressers, TV technicians, etc.
We mentioned categories that the people frequently require their services.
How can this committee (NECC) find a solution of how these categories of self-employed persons that offer a service, continue to keep the same price or tariff that they charge today with the Maltese Lira?
And how are they going to show the price or tariff?
Perhaps they will force them to hang a list around their neck with the two prices?
How can they fix the price or tariff when they depend on the amount or the quality of the service that they had given you?
The
NECC is without an answer
To confirm this, we phoned on Ewro 154 and left a message to ring us back to tell us if they have a solution.
The responsible officer of the NECC committee was lost when we asked him what are they going to do in the case of these categories of people who offer services so that the people would know their tariff or price with the two prices (in Maltese liri and Ewro).
This officer’s answer, who became aware that he was with his back to the wall,
was:
“Heqq, they don’t have products on which to stick the prices”.
But, he told us,
we are meeting with the advocates (we think he wanted to say the Chamber of
Advocates) and are “negotiating with them by asking them not to increase their
tariffs”.
Look how they can continue to keep the same tariff.
To do so, they will have to keep with them a whole lot of Ewro cents when on 1 January 2008, the Maltese lira will be withdrawn, so that they will be able to give change.
Imagine a doctor who normally charges Lm4 for a visit.
With the Ewro
this comes to 9.31 Ewros.
Is there anyone who believes that the doctor will ask the patient for 9 Ewros and 31 cents and more likely than not round it up to 10 Ewros?
There is nothing in the law that states that doctors cannot charge more than they are charging now.
It’s the same if you go to an advocate for legal advice.
Do you think that when today he charges you Lm5 for legal advise, when the Ewro is adopted he will ask you for 11 Ewros and 63 cents which is the official rate of exchange and not going to ask you for 12 Euros by rounding it up?
And it will be the same if you receive any other service.
Certainly no one believes that the doctors, advocates, dentists and all those
who give a service are going to reduce their price or tariffs so that they are
rounded down and will not have the necessity to give change.
So it is certain that they will increase their tariff or price so that they will come to a round figure in Ewros.
We cannot forget that price controls do not exist in the European Union because the free market is the false God of the Union bureaucrats.
Therefore all these campaigns to impress the people that with the changeover of the Maltese lira to the Ewro “only the currency will be changed and not their prices”, is only play-acting.
Even when we had fixed product prices and had price control police we used to hear every day with cases of breaches of the law because they used to increase prices more than was allowed by the law, are they now going, when there can no longer be any price controls in our country because we became members in the European Union, not to increase prices?
Therefore we tell the Government and NECC, don’t try to pass the Maltese and Gozitan people through the eye of the needle.
Tell the truth that many prices and tariffs are going to be increased with the entry of the Ewro.
Our Prime Minister, the Ministers and Parliamentary Secretaries are going back and forth to Brussels to take orders from the European Union and then come to tell the people how those of the Union welcomed them and listened to them.
This comedy
repeats itself nearly every week and Maltese journalists are frequently taken to
report on the same day where our representatives went, with whom they met, what
they said and what they have been told, with whom they had lunch and with whom
they had taken photos.
Our people swallow that propaganda and pay for it with their taxes.
They tell us that thus we have become part of Europe and forget that a few years
ago they used to boast with long sermons that our country was “the advanced
guard of European civilization against the Asiatic and African barbarism”.
They forget that the Maltese people were considered as Roman citizens when half
the countries of Europe were still considered as barbarians (uncivilized).
Afterwards, except for around 200 years under Arab rule, we were led for
hundreds of years by European nations and formed part of Western Europe.
Geographically and historically we form part of the European continent, and we did not have the necessity to become members in the European Union to become part of Europe.
We are saying this not boastfully, because it is not something to boast about that we are European, when many of the European people should be ashamed for the many people that they ruled, took their resources and enslaved them for centuries.
The unbridled enthusiasm for the European Union of many among us is an example
of xenophobia no less than that of the fanatics of the right that led them to
throw away our independence and freedom that we had acquired with so many
sacrifices after so many centuries under foreign rule.
We
are back to
the colonial era, this time led by the big and powerful European Union
countries, served by the Maltese leaders who dance to their tune with the
European Union mark, according to the Union laws, regulations and directives.
For our present leaders Europe not Malta comes first, notwithstanding that for the majority of the Maltese people our country comes before other countries.
The majority of the Maltese people cannot understand how, because we became members in the European Union, the majority of the Union people have the right to make us make laws that they agree with but which the majority of Maltese people do not agree with.
This goes against the fundamental principle of our parliamentary democratic system that recognizes that our people should be led according to the will of the majority of our people as expressed in the election.
When we have to
submit to laws that are made according to what the majority of the Union people
want, but which the majority of our people do not agree with, we will be giving
proof that our will is no longer in our hands and that we have again become
ruled by foreigners.
Now the European Union has even forced us not to apply our laws in our own country to those who come to give their service in our country.
According to the Union directive on services, a person or company from one of the Union countries that gives its services in Malta is not bound by Maltese law but with the law of its own country.
This means that a Bulgarian company, for example, that sends it workers or employees to work in Malta, is not obliged to pay them according to Maltese laws, but it will continue to pay them according to Bulgarian laws.
This creates unjust competition for the Maltese entrepreneurs, workers and employees, while creating a situation where our laws do not apply to everyone, Maltese and foreigners, in the same manner.
And this is not because we want it to be so, but because the European Union wants it to be so.
We did not continue to command in our country.
