The EU binds itself with NATO

The Prime Minister of Malta today is going to meet with the leaders of the other European Union countries to see how they can strengthen their ties with the military alliance NATO.

When he is doing so, the Prime Minister knows that he is betraying his oath that he took to protect the Constitution of Malta that binds our country not to take part in any military alliance.

The EU and the military alliance NATO have long been planning how they are going to work together in the military security sector not only in Europe, but around the whole world.

Even the United Stated of America has long been insisting that the EU cooperates with NATO in the military security sector.

The Lisbon Treaty makes this cooperation more possible because it provides for the EU to “militarize” itself more.

Malta, which according to the constitution is a neutral country and cannot become a member in a military alliance, when it approved the Lisbon Treaty, accepted the EU “militarization”, and therefore also that of our country as part of the EU.

Thus our country is playing with fire because it is distancing itself from the peace road and approaching the military initiatives that the European Union has a share in what after all will lead to war.

Common security and defense policy

The EU is developing a common security and defense policy and a foreign policy to sustain it.

Once this policy also applies to Malta,

* our country will be considered by all the world countries

* that it is embracing the common foreign security and defense policy drafted by the EU,

* and is no longer embracing a policy of neutrality

* and non-alignment as ordered by the Constitution of Malta.

The Members of the Maltese Parliament

* are not interesting themselves

* about our country’s foreign policy

* and do not care that it is being changed

* with great damage for the interests of the Maltese people,

* because otherwise they would not have remained silent

* and never discuss Malta’s

* foreign relations sector,

* notwithstanding that the Maltese people can live in peace only

* if they do not get involved with wars.

Without the Members of Parliament knowing it,

* the Government has already agreed with the agreement reached

* by the representatives of the EU countries,

* on the ties that the European Union should have

* with the military alliance NATO,

* and this agreement is going to be presented to the leaders of the EU countries

* (including the Prime Minister of Malta)

* to approve it at the 16 September Summit.

When the leaders approved the agreement on the ties between the EU and NATO,

* without knowing it,

* will find itself caught in the net of military intrigues

* secretly agreed between the NATO leaders

* of the EU

* and America.

In all this, the Maltese Parliament is totally ignored and the real interests of the Maltese people are forgotten.

EU military adventures

Both NATO as well as America are eager for the EU to become part of their military adventures.

Last week NATO’s General Secretary, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, in a speech he made in Madrid, appealed for the EU and NATO to support each other in the security protection sector, and that this should occur by making plans and taking action together when it is beneficial to do so.

What America wants was made clear by the American Foreign Secretary Hilary Clinton, in a speech she made last January in Paris to the French Military Academy.

She insisted that in today’s confounded world it will be useful both for NATO as well as the EU not to operate separately, because nowadays the security sector is no longer that when NATO and the EU were set up, and neither can it be said that the European Union has got nothing to do with the protection of security, or that it does not interfere in issues that threaten security.

That is why the United States are pressuring the EU and NATO to work and cooperate together. said Clinton.

But neither the fact that the EU works hand in hand in the military sector with the NATO alliance, nor the fact that the EU increases it military forces, will contribute to enhance the protection of the security of the Maltese people.

Our security will be strengthened the more Malta distances itself from the NATO military alliance and better not take part in the “militarization” of the European Union.

Because as long as our country continues to be considered by those who may be potential enemies of NATO and the militarized EU, as a neutral country, and non-aligned, and which works actively for peace among nations and does not take part in a military alliance, the Maltese people will be left to live in peace and will be held as a friendly people not an enemy.

The Government that is embracing the EU common policy both in the foreign affairs sector, as well as in the security and defense sectors, is threatening the peace and security of the Maltese people.

The Members of Parliament who with their silence allow the government to do so

will be accomplices with it in the betrayal of the national interests.

Support for the EU is steadily declining

By the Campaign for National Independence CNI

After being shocked by the survey that the EU carried out on public opinion

* that showed that not even half the people of the member countries believe that it is good,

* the EU chose to spend millions of euros more than it is already spending

* in propaganda about the President of the European Commission, Josč Manuel Barroso.

The European Commissioner responsible from

* the social communications policy,

* Vivien Reding,

* proposed that a group of photographers

* and television operators

* accompany Barroso

* for a whole day,

* and that the EU should pay part of their expenses

* when they go with him to other countries.

Commissioner Reding is also insisting that Barroso,

* as the President of the European Commission,

* should be given more importance,

* and that he himself should make all the public statements of the Commission,

* instead of what has happened up to now,

* that each European Commissioner make the statements

* for the sector for which he is responsible.

As a part of this propaganda plan, on 7 September, Barroso made a speech in the European Parliament, for which the Members of Parliament were asked to attend.

There was a fear that many members were not going to attend so much so that on the eve of the meeting, the plan was not implement at the last moment was that those who do not attend will be fined.

The decision that the members who do not attend for Barroso’s speech be fined created harsh criticism and laid bare the lack of interest of the Parliament Members in the work of the European Commission President, as well as the uselessness of his speech.

Harsh criticism was also made for the increase in the expense for the propaganda of the European omission President.

The Sunday Telegraph correspondent Stan Herbert, said that the increased expense to make Barroso’s appearance better, is the last in a series of vanity projects that the EU is paying from the taxes of the member countries people.

Instead of spending these funds on photos and videos of a president who is not elected by the people, the EU should better its image much more by listening to what the EU citizens have to say, and by not continuing to squander their taxes paid by them.

An example of how the EU squandering its funds

* was given by the Organization “Open Europe”

* that uncovered how last year the EU spent €8 million

Open Europe* for “entertaining, training and ‘informing’ journalists”,

* and that €351,800 of which were spent for Irish journalists

* prior to the referendum on the Lisbon Treaty,

* and €7,000 were paid for two “cocktail parties” for journalists.

On the eve of Barroso’s speech in the European Parliament, the decision to fine Members of Parliament who do not attend was repealed.

Many commentators considered this decision insolent, anti-democratic, and not according to the dignity and independence of the Members of the European Parliament elected by the people, and that it was fitting to school children.

A Dutch Member of Parliament, Peter van Balen, compared the decision with those that were taken previously, in the Soviet Union.

According to the British Member of Parliament Sarah Ladford, the decision was shameful for the European Parliament which appeared to have to pay the members to listen to Barroso speaking.

Although the EU tried to inflate Barroso’s speech as a “State of the Union” message, it does not appear that it had any interest and importance, so much so that the following day’s newspapers didn’t give it any importance and did not create any discussion or debate.

In our country, the newspapers did not even report it and the Maltese people do not even know what Barroso said, except of having appealed for the collective action of the EU countries to overcome the crisis that they are facing, and showed the intention of implementing the reforms of the Lisbon Treaty and of reaching the aims of the EU’s vision 2020.

The squandering of more millions in propaganda is not going to give results that satisfy the people of the EU countries.

They are getting more confused

* when they see the number of leaders who speak in the name of the EU,

* because apart from the European Commission President,

* there is also the EU President,

* the Belgian Rompuy,

* and every six months,

* it will be the Prime Minister of one of the member countries

* who serves as the President of the meetings of the Council of Ministers of the EU,

* and there is also the President of the European Parliament,

* and now,

* there is the Minister for Foreign Affairs of the EU,

* the British Ashton,

* who in international meetings,

* speaks on behalf of all the EU countries.

With all these captains it cannot but create great confusion in the minds of the common citizens who see the EU as the Tower of Babel with many languages.

That is why popular support for the EU is always declining.

Buried in the EU, how can Malta arise again?

By By Charles Micallef,  Campaign for National Independence CNI

Although the Front “Maltese Arise” hopes that the Maltese will again arise, I do not believe that Malta can now arise again once following the trouble of the summer of 1998 and the fall of the Labour Government, the European Union hurried to grab Malta and colonize it.

The European Union understood Malta’s strategic value, as great army generals many time have admitted that our country, in the middle of the Mediterranean, had great strategic importance.

For the defense of the European Union, Malta as a member in the Union and therefore implementing the Union’s common defense and security policy would be more useful than an independent, neutral and non-aligned Malta.

Independent Malta was murdered when it became a European Union member in 2004.

The EU is going to do everything possible for Malta not to arise again as an independent and neutral state, and in this is going to have the help of the United States of America.

Because the United states want that in case of war, they would have the EU to fight with them, and would want all the EU countries, including Malta, to support them.

If Malta would be independent and neutral it would not give support to the United States in wars that they engage in and in which they implicate the EU, or force it to give them a helping hand.

But if Malta is dead buried in the EU and not independent every support given by the EU to the United States, would include support from Malta.

The Maltese Government is no longer governing as is better for the Maltese people, but has to govern as the EU dictates to it what it must do.

That is why Malta has again become a colony and is no longer independent.

If the Maltese government could govern as is better for the Maltese people, then it would not keep thousands of illegal immigrants in Malta without allowing them to go to the big EU countries where they want to go.

The Government does not allow them to go from Malta because the EU ordered it not to allow them to do so.

We should not be amazed that the EU gives orders to our Government, because the big EU countries have it in their blood to colonize other countries.

In fact,

* England,

* France,

* Germany,

* Spain,

* Portugal,

* Italy,

* for many years all had many colonies.

Now that the omelette (a Maltese expression meaning that smashed eggs cannot be made whole eggs again, English expression would be what’s done is done) of European Union membership has been made, I say, how can Malta arise again?

For some sectors of the people, such as professionals, EU membership was good.

The same applies to those few who with membership are personally benefitting from it.

Those who used to say that they were fighting “For ourselves and our children” were right, because with the EU they and their lawyers’ tribe are doing well.

But the workers class is being crushed by EU membership.

Apart from the closure of factories and the Shipyard because of EU policy, the forced presence of thousands of illegal immigrants is breaking the strength of the workers by lowering their wages and working conditions.

This is what the EU capitalists, who are the descendants of the capitalists about whom “Das Kapital” was written by Karl Marx, want.
