WELCOME TO THE CNI WEBPAGE
CAMPAIGN FOR NATIONAL INDEPENDENCE

Was, is and shall remain in favour of Maltese workers
and against Malta's membership of the European Union
TELL YOUR PARLIAMENTARY DEPUTY THAT YOU WANT MALTA TO REGAIN INDEPENDENCE AND FREEDOM
In the seven years 2007 – 2014 the Maltese and Gozitans are bound to pay the European Union €420,000,000
National interests are protected with consent
The
Government of an independent country if not bound by the constitution of the
country, can whenever it wants, agree and be bound with another Government on
whatever is in its interests.
If it feels that it is not in its interests, it will not agree and it will not be bound.
Everything
is done by consent.
A Government that wants to remain independent will never be in its interests to
be bound about something that will be decided by another and with which it may
not agree with.
If it binds itself beforehand that it will submit with what will be decided by a majority, it may find itself that it will have to accept and do what is not in its interests.
It is in this situation that the agreement for membership in the European Union
has brought Malta that will have to accept decisions, policies and laws made by
the majority of the other EU countries, even though we do not agree with them
and understand that they will be more damaging than beneficial for us.
That a country binds itself that it will do nothing that will be damaging to another country is not a wrong policy.
But to bind itself to implement a policy that is decided by others even if it does not agree with it, is a very wrong thing for the country.
This is how Malta wrongly bound itself when it bound
itself with the agreement for membership in the European Union.
It is this matter that is the crux for our objection to the agreement for
membership in the EU and the lack of the necessary consent by our country for
decisions that are taken by the EU system.
It is not true that without the majority system, a union of countries cannot move forward.
A Union can move forward and well in every sector with everyone’s consent.
Where everyone’s consent is lacking, every country will
remain free to go ahead as it considers best, unless it is damaging to the other
countries of the union.
If there is a partnership between three, you should not expect that one is to submit to what the other two would want.
You expect a compromise agreement to be reached that each of the three can accept.
For this to succeed, each one should make an effort to find an acceptable way for the other two.
But if in a partnership of three the decisions are taken by majority, two will agree on what is in their interests without considering what is not in the interests of the third.
This principle of consent of each party is important in the case between
persons, companies and organizations.
But it is much more important with respect to countries where national interests are concerned.
The
European Union mistaken policy
The EU policy in some sectors is mistaken and our country will be mistaken to follow it.
The
policy of the Union with respect to “aid” to industry is destroying it in
the member countries, and is helping to increase it in countries where workers
are miserly paid, work exaggerated hours and the other conditions of work are
the worst.
The EU is implementing a policy that increases trade at the expense of the
industry weak and the lack of employment.
We are in a situation where big European manufacturing companies pressure the EU to allow them to import without any limits of EU quantities and tariffs, their products that are produced outside the EU, and that previously were made in the Union.
And the EU, instead of discouraging this from happening, is implementing a policy for this to succeed.
The Union is implementing a policy that while it does not allow aid to be given to the industries of the EU countries, will also not allow protection to be given to industry against the importation from countries where the workers are exploited and not treated decently, particularly in the case of female workers and child workers.
That is why the European Union with
its industrial and commercial policy is blessing and helping the exploitation of
the workers in the countries from where products that were previously produced
by workers in Union countries are imported.
The Union is implementing this policy, although it knows that it is creating
mass unemployment and bad social consequences in the EU countries.
The European Union policy is so mistaken that it is ready to allow the state to pay millions in payments as help to unemployed workers, but it is not ready to instead allow it to give the same amount of millions in aid to industry to continue to employ the same number of workers.
Because for the Union, the principle of free and unaided competition is greater than the principle of the dignity of the workers that only work can assure.
Perhaps not everyone realises that when you become a member in the European Union, you accept to implement this mistaken and destructive of the human dignity policy.
This succeeds because the Union carries out strong and deceitful propaganda about human rights, while trampling on his fundamental right to work that makes it possible for the human being himself to live and provide for his family, with dignity and not with charity.
Further
information about the European Union
‘Accounts’
The lack of seriousness with which the European Union
keeps its accounts of its enormous funds should discredit it in the eyes of all
the people of the whole world.
During the last 12 years, the Union Auditors have refused
to certify the Union ‘accounts’ because of defects and irregularities.
It has become known that the Auditors are, for the thirteenth year, going to say
that they cannot certify the Union accounts for the last year, because the
auditors are not satisfied about their correctness and exactness.
‘Lobbyists’
It is difficult for one to know what led the European Union to take certain decisions, because of big companies, organisations from different sectors and a great number of other lobbyists that influence the Union.
It
is estimated that in Brussels there are between 15,000 and 20,000
representatives of organizations of economic
sectors, of public relations
sections of large commercial enterprises, of international lawyers firms and of
NGOs whose work is to influence what decisions are taken by the European Union.
The European Commission publicly admits that it has contacts with these
lobbyists, but insists that it will not reveal with whom.
But recently the Union Court of Justice decided that the Commission must not hide with whom it had discussions before it had reached its decisions.
Even
the Union Ombudsman gave his opinion that the Commission should show in its
documents with whom it had discussions before it decided.
State
Aid
According
to a ‘low cost’ airline Ryanair, the French Government during the last seven
years, gave the airline company Air France financial aid of one billion Ewros.
Ryanair
is accusing the European Commission that it is allowing this state aid to be
granted to Air France, and this with a breach of European Union law about
commercial competition untouched by Government aid.
