WELCOME TO THE CNI WEBPAGE
CAMPAIGN FOR NATIONAL INDEPENDENCE

Was, is and shall remain in favour of Maltese workers
and against Malta's membership of the European Union
TELL YOUR PARLIAMENTARY DEPUTY THAT YOU WANT MALTA TO REGAIN INDEPENDENCE AND FREEDOM
The European Union ordered that in 2011 the Maltese and Gozitan people pay it €68,000,000
€186,000 daily stolen from your childrens mouths
Why don’t the workers take “Manoel Island”?
It is not true that we cannot leave the European Union
See this European Parliament video that we can leave
The Campaign for National Independence (CNI) insists that it the Government should end up to sell the Manoel Island Yacht Yard distinct and separate from the rest of the Shipyard, the workers themselves should be given preference to take it themselves, and not given as a gift to some dear friend.
Because
from the documents presented by the Government itself on the Parliament table,
it results that the Manoel Island Yacht Yard is not only commercially viable,
but make substantial profit.
The Manoel Island Yacht Yard accounts for four months show that it made a net profit of Lm200,000, after deducting all the payments and expenses.
This
means that every worker of the Yacht Yard left the Yard a net profit of Lm1,000
per month per capita.
CNI believes that
* the profit which was made from the work of the workers who,
* while showing ability in their work,
* made sacrifices by accepting that as from the 2003 Collective Agreement,
* changes in their working conditions,
* together with efficient management,
*
which made it possible for the enterprise to
make good profit.
This is a recipe that assures the commercial viability of the enterprise – the
good work of the employees led by a competent management.
On
the contrary, inefficient management will reduce to nothing the good fruit of
the ability that the workers show in their work.
That the Manoel Island Yacht Yard workers are able in their work is witnessed by
the good results of the enterprise.
The Manoel Island Yacht Yard has a good name both locally, as well as most important, internationally in the yachts world.
Apart
from the repair and maintenance of yachts, this Shipyard’s Yacht Yard workers
have shown that they are able to build them, and in the past have even built
hydrofoils.
The yachts industry is constantly expanding and the number of yachts that there are in our country and others that come from time to time is constantly increasing.
Therefore the work on yachts in our country is assured and should expend in future.
This gives an idea of the potential that Manoel Island Yachts Yard has which already has the capacity to give around Lm50,000 profit to the Shipyard.
CNI insists that it will be robbery of the people’s resources if an enterprise which makes so much profit were to be given to some private friend on the pretext of privatization.
If
it should be privatized, it is certain that the workers have a sacrosanct right
before anyone else to be given to them, because it is the fruit of their ability
and work.
The workers will do well to start thinking of becoming members in a cooperative,
for it to take in its hands and manage the Yacht Yard, not only in Manoel
Island, but also the useful Marsa facilities where there was the Shipbuilding.
