WELCOME TO THE CNI WEBPAGE

CAMPAIGN FOR NATIONAL INDEPENDENCE

Was, is and shall remain in favour of Maltese workers

and against Malta's membership of the European Union

WE SWEAR TO FREE MALTA FROM THE SLAVERY, COLONIALISM AND DICTATORIAL ILLEGAL EUROPEAN UNION RULE

The European Union ordered that as from 2010 the Maltese and Gozitan people pay it €182,192 daily stolen from your childrens mouths

We shall leave today before tomorrow

The politicians and the political parties in Malta insist that now that our country has become a member in the European Union, there is nothing we can do.

But the majority of the people say:

We shall leave today before tomorrow. (a Maltese expression meaning the sooner the better, with haste)

They say that we should leave today before tomorrow from the Union, the housewives who have found that with membership in the Union the cost of living had increased like hell.

They say that we should leave today before tomorrow from the Union the workers who, with membership in the Union, lost their job and the workers who are having their working conditions reduced.

They say that we should leave today before tomorrow from the Union the owners who, because of membership in the Union, had to close their enterprises or reduce their size.

They say that we should leave today before tomorrow from the Union the youths who, because of membership in the Union, cannot get a house to build their family because they cannot afford the exaggerated property prices.

They say that we should leave today before tomorrow from the Union the pensioners who know that with membership in the Union, the granting of pensions will worsen.

They say that we should leave today before tomorrow from the Union the people who know that with membership in the Union, they are going to lose the free social services that they have become accustomed to enjoy.

They say that we should leave today before tomorrow from the Union the Maltese Christians who are seeing that membership in the Union is threatening the solid Christian values and traditions of our people.

They say that we should leave today before tomorrow from the Union the true Maltese who endear the independence, freedom, sovereignty and neutrality of our country that membership in the Union has destroyed.

Out of the European Union our people will again be able to vote for the policy that they want our country to follow and not have to submit to the policy dictated by the Union.

Outside the Union the people shall again have politicians that lead, not politicians that are led by the Union.

Outside the Union we shall again first protect the national interests of the Maltese people, not the interests of the European Union.

The Shipyard workers know that for the Shipyard not to close down, our country has to leave the Union.

The Air Malta employees know that for Air Malta not to be destroyed, it is necessary that we leave the Union.

The owners of small enterprises know that for them not to be sold to foreigners, it is better to leave the Union.

The hunters and trappers know that to save hunting and trapping, our country has to leave the Union today before tomorrow.

With membership in the Union, Malta will not be competitive.

Outside the Union, Malta will again move forward.

The EU wants to destroy our hunting and trapping

The hunters and trappers, Nationalists and Labourites, today believe that the European Union want to destroy hunting and trapping in our country.

They know that for this not to happen, it is necessary for our country to do away with the shackles of membership in the Union that the Maltese Parliament approved.

We said it and shall repeat it that we never agreed and shall never agree with the policies and directives of the Union regarding hunting and trapping in Malta and Ghawdex.

We believe that there are two factors that should guide us on hunting in our country.

These are the consideration of hunting sustainability to ensure that hunting does not come to an end, and the consideration of the living in security of our people that they do not suffer damage from hunting.

We do not accept that the EU dictates to us what we do about hunting according to the mistaken values and hypocratic Union stand.

Because while the Union does not want bird hunting in our country, it wants the killing of babies by promoting abortion.

We also believe that the trapping of birds should be allowed as long as its sustainability is assured and it will not be an inconvenience to the public.

We do not understand how the Union objects to the trapping of birds that are kept locked up in cages when the Union approves that wild jungle animals be kept locked up in zoos in all the Union member countries.

We insist that the trappers be allowed to enjoy their peaceful hobby with respect to the mentioned principles of sustainability of birds and trapping and the convenience of the public.

We also insist that the hunters should be allowed to enjoy their hobby with respect to the same principles of sustainability of birds and the protection of the public.

In this respect we insist that we allocate land to hunters for hunting as the Government had allocated them in 1986 the Aħrax tal-Mellieħa and Miżieb (places in Malta) apart from other land that was chosen for this purpose.

We tell the hunters and trappers to peacefully protest most strongly, but also to take part in the campaign so that our people shall again acquire independence and freedom and thus we decide how we want to protect hunting and trapping in our country.

The UE is falling back

In France, in Germany and in Italy many criticize the adoption of the Euro and consider that it is causing damage to the industry and economy of the country.

In our country the European Union propagandists insist that the entry of the Euro will be for the good of the industry and the economy.

In England, in Denmark and Sweden, the people did not adopt the Euro and in the three countries the economic situation and the trade situation are better than those of the other Union countries that had adopted the Euro.

But in Malta none of the politicians, the industrialists and the traders ask why, if the British, the Danes and the Swedes are better without the Euro, should we, the Maltese, pretend that we will be better with adoption of the Euro?

Not one of the vain economists in Malta explains to the people why the growth rate of the economy in the EU in less than the growth rate of the economies of many countries who are not in the EU.

Because of this, the Union economy is falling back when compared with those of many countries.

The slow rate of economic growth in the EU is worrying many people.

Recently, even the Association of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Europe issued a report that compared the Union economy with that of the United States of America.

The report shows that in the last two years, the difference between the European Union economy and that of the United States continued to increase.

The report of the Association of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Europe gave a number of figures to show that the Union will not succeed in its Lisbon agenda of being the same as that of the United States of America in the economic sector.

The report says that the average income of a person in the EU today is the same as a person in the United States used to have 22 years ago, and during the last two years the difference increased by three years.

The report also says that the rate of employment in the Union today is the same as that of 23 years ago in the United States, and during the last two years the difference increased by three years.

In the Union the percentage spending on Research and Development for every person today is the same as that of 29 years ago in the United States, and during the last two years the difference increased by five years.

The average productivity of an employee in the Union today is the same as that of an employee in the United States 18 years ago, and during the last two years the difference increased by three years.

In the light of this report, Pierre Simon, the President of the Association of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of Europe said that although European Union economy is growing, the economic and industrial situation is alarming just the same.

This is because together with the United States of America there are other countries, like Norway, China, India and Brazil that are having bigger growth in their economies than that of the EU.

It is good to be reminded that in past years, the rate of growth of the Maltese economy and industry when we were outside the EU was greater than that of the EU, and many times greater than the present expansion rate now that we are in the Union.

They don’t know when it will be ready!

Although Prime Minister Gonzi and Minister Gatt stated many times that the Smart City project at Rikasoli came because Malta became a European Union member, this is not true.

The Arab company, Tecom Investments, came to Malta because the Maltese Government gave it about 360,000 square metres of land for a great number of years, and from the development of buildings and factories that it is going to make on it, will receive much much more than it will spend.

This advantageous project will have come just the same had our country not become a member in the Union.

In one of our programmes on Smash TV we had asked Minister Gatt a number of questions about the Smart City project, and the Minister has never answered a single one of them.

Among the questions, we had asked him whether the Tecom Investments Company would have made the same investments in our country if our country were not a member in the EU, when it also acquired the majority of the shares in the Maltese people’s company Maltacom.

Since Minister Gatt did not answer the questions that we had put to him, we have every reason to again say that it is not true that the Tecom Investments Company came to Malta because we are in the European Union.

This company would still have come to Malta even if we were not in the Union, because on the greater part of the land that it has been given at Rikasoli, it is going to build around 400 apartments, luxury villas and hotels, and from this land speculation it will be making a great profit on the Lm110 million that it is going to invest.

We hope that foreign companies will not start demanding that they be given large swathes of land in our country to build villas as a condition to come and invest in our country as had been demanded by Tecom Investments.

A new fact has just been uncovered about this Smart City project.

During a press conference held on 5 March, the officer in charge of the preparation of the master plan of the Rikasoli project, Hugh Roberts, said something that we do not think that Minister Gatt who was sitting next to him was happy to hear.

Hugh Roberts was reported to have said that in view of the big scale of this project, it is not known when it will be ready, but presently the intention is that this project will take about 14 years to be finished.

Congratulations!

Then it was empty words when in February last year Minister Gatt announced the project and said that it will be ready in ten years.

Now that a year has passed it was announced that it may be ready in 14-years time.

And the officer in charge of the project master plan said that it is not known when it will be ready!

Why all this confusion?

We have stated from the beginning that Minister Gatt was counting the chickens before they hatch.

Time, although after only one year, appears to be already proving us right.
