WELCOME TO THE CNI WEBPAGE
CAMPAIGN FOR NATIONAL INDEPENDENCE

Was, is and shall remain in favour of Maltese workers
and against Malta's membership of the European Union
TELL YOUR PARLIAMENTARY DEPUTY THAT YOU WANT MALTA TO REGAIN INDEPENDENCE AND FREEDOM
The European Union ordered that as from 2010 the Maltese and Gozitan people pay it
€182,192 daily stolen from your childrens mouths
Do not continue to deceive the people
By the Campaign for National Independence CNI
It is not true that we cannot leave the European Union
See this European Parliament video that we can leave
The events that happened in our country and in the European Union since the majority of Maltese voted in favour of Malta’s membership agreement in the European Union strengthened the Campaign for National Independence (CNI) to continue with its work to uncover the deceit of the campaign in favour of membership and the Union propaganda in favour of its policy.

The
first example of deceit is given to us by the Government that had bragged that
it had come to an agreement with 31 organizations for the country after voting
in favour of the accession agreement, would be ruled also with all their
agreement and not only according as decided by the Nationalist Party itself.
But what happened was that in every decision that the Government has taken following the election, the organizations hit by the decisions, either accused the Government that it had not consulted them, or complained that the government decided against their opinion they had shown to the government.
We’ve seen the
* Federation of Industries,
* the Chamber of Commerce,
* the General Retailers and Traders Union,
* the Hotels and Restaurants Association,
* Alternattiva Demokratika,
* The Union Ħaddiema Magħqudin,
* and other organizations
* fighting against the Government
* on many decisions taken against their opinion.
The promise that the Government had made to the organizations that had supported it in the campaign for European Union membership prior to the election vanish as have vanished the majority of promises that the Nationalist Government makes and does not implement.
It tries to trap the Opposition
Another deceit of the government is the manner with which it deals with the Labour Opposition.
The Government pretends that the Opposition shares with it the responsibility of the failure in every sector that the Government has brought the country in, while at the same time it denigrates the Labour Party and blames it for the dire situation that we are in.

After
14 years of Nationalist government, the Prime Minister and Nationalist Ministers
have the arrogance of laming everything that is wrong in our country on the
previous Labour Governments.
But
the financial crisis that the country is in is all the fault of the Fenech Adami,
John Dalli and their partners who have shown that they are not clever in ruling
the country which they beggared it and cast it in debt notwithstanding the vast
amount of taxes that they burdened it with.
You feel sorry seeing some Labour supporters who think that the Party can gain votes if they do not oppose in the most absolute manner the Government management which is casting us into more depth with the mistakes that it’s making.
They think that if they do not totally accept the European Union membership agreement which did nto get more than 12,000 votes from 134,000 votes cast against it, the Labour Party will not be able to get the majority support.
When they reason like this, they will be falling in the Government’s and its allies trap, including the English language newspapers and the writers who are Nationalist propagandists, and therefore only praise what benefits the Nationalist Party and not that which would benefit the Labour Party.
But some Labour Supporters are so gullible that they do not even smell such a trap.
The treachery of the new Constitution
There
is also another event that is happening in the European Union that shows how our
people were deceived prior to the referendum and the general election.
When the majority of the people said that it agrees with Malta’s membership in the European Union, the European Union had treaties that regulated its management, with the last one being the Nice Treaty, which provided for the enlargement of the Union and how the Union had to be managed after the applicant countries for membership including Malta became members.
But now the European Union is going to have a new Constitution which is very different from what the Union was when the referendum on Malta’s membership was held. Malta, as a Union member, is going to find itself bound with a constitution that the people never approved and who are not going to have the opportunity to say whether they agree to be bound by it.
There is also a point that although not of great importance, is considered as a point that shows the lack of values of the European Union, notwithstanding the bragging about its values by many Christians who so much preached in favour of Malta’s membership in the Union.
It was useless that the Church was tainted in favour of the European Union, the EU is refusing to recognize in its new Constitution the role of Christianity in the building of Europe.
The CNI was right to say that the European Union lacks Christian values.
The denial of recognizing God in the Union’s new Constitution and the lack of recognition of the Christian faith in the building of Europe, ought to be a cause of shame for those Maltese Christians who chose the European Union notwithstanding that the European Union did not recognize neither God nor Christianity.
On this issue, many Maltese who voted in favour of Malta’s membership in the European Union today feel deceived that they were not told that the European Union does not embrace Christian values, but embraces values fitting for pagans.
The deceit of the peoples’ unity
Now following the general election they are trying to deceive the people by telling them that there is now no issue about Malta’s membership in the European Union.
They are saying so perhaps to pacify the rage that many are feeling that they had been betrayed and others who feel that they had been deceived when they are seeing that much of what had been said prior to the referendum is not true and when they are feeling the bad consequences of the membership agreement.
Following the
* discharges that were made and others who are threatened,
* after the taxes that have been made and others that are announced,
* after the notices that have been given of the changes in pensions,
* of the reductions in social services,
* of payment that is going to be made for health services,
* and of the other burdens that the people are going to be burdened with
* as otherwise Union membership will not be sustainable,
* not only not all people are united on European Union membership,
* but the number of those who are against membership
* is greater than what it was prior to the referendum.
Whoever does not recognize this fact is either mistaken or wants to deceive.
They betrayed us
The representatives of the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and of the Council of Europe issued a statement on the elections last Sunday in Russia that they went to supervise.
![]()
They
condemned the manner in which President Putin’s Government conducted the
elections because it had a great advantage of the resources of the State in its
favour that distorted the results.
That the electoral process was a backward step towards the democracy of the country. Putin’s political adversaries said that the elections were a farce.
But compared to the enormous and barefaced disadvantage that we had in the referendum in Malta on European Union membership, what happened in Russia is nothing.
The unbalance in the referendum in Malta was not only in the great amount of funds from public funds that the Maltese Government abusively spent in the campaign in favour of European Union membership.
Worse than this we had foreign interference in breach of the law where a lot of foreign leaders and officials both of the European Union itself, as well as from other Union member countries.
Never before this time were the Maltese people subjected for such a massive bombardment of fine propaganda intended to influence them so much so that it did not allow them to be able to use their judgment to make a free choice.
This notwithstanding not even half the Maltese and Gozitans who had the right to voter voted in favour of Malta’s membership in the European Union.
According to the criteria that the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe and of the Council of Europe applied in the case of the election in Russia, the voting in the referendum in Malta was totally undemocratic and condemnable.
However, because there was the question of Malta’s membership in the European Union, no one, neither the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe, nor the Council of Europe and no other international organization from among those who look how voting is conducted according to democratic principles, complained on the shameful and obscene manner of how the referendum campaign was conducted in our country.
Betrayals
The European Union and the Maltese Government betrayed us on Union membership because they said one thing and we found another. Both the Union as well as the Government said that Malta is going to be given great millions every year.

Demarco and Fenech Adami and Josef Bonnici promised us one hundred million, ninety million and eighty million (Malta Liri).
We ended up by Dalli in the Budget telling us that in 2004 the European Union was expected to give us 33 million and we give it 29 million.
We are left with four million, which are not even a quarter of the expenses that we have to make to implement the Union regulations.

Thus
we are going to spend more and not be financially better.
The European Union and the government betrayed us when they assured us that with the Union’s big Common Market work and employment in our country were going to increase to keep up with the increase of sales of our products.
Instead of this happening, our workers were and are being discharged and work is depleting and not increasing.
The European Union and the Maltese Government betrayed us when they said that with Malta’s membership in the European Union productive investment in our country will increase.
Now
following membership we have found out that not only productive investment did
not come, but enterprises established in our country closed and shifted
production to other countries outside the Union and others are threatening us to
do the same because we did not remain competitive.
1. The European Union and the Maltese Government betrayed us when they told us that if we do not become EU members we will lose tourists a great number of which come from the EU countries.
Now after we have become members we are seeing the number of tourists decreasing from the EU countries and the expenses of the tourism industry in our country increasinf with the entry into effect fo Union regulations and with the taxes that were increased due to Union membership.
The EU and the Maltese Government betrayed us when they bragged that with Union membership the standard of living in our country is going to increase.
Following the measures announced in the Budget, the burden of taxes increased and the services costs also increased mostly those that will no longer be provided without payment.
Thus the standard of living decreased not increased for many families who find
that with their wages they can buy less although they spend more in increased
prices.
The European and the Maltese Government betrayed us when they said that the Union does not interfere in our pensions and social services because they will remain under our Government.
Now we have found out that the European Union orders the Maltese Government what it must change in pension and what it should make with payment and no longer free and we hear them saying that nothing is free.
With lower pensions and with increased payment for services, the standard of living of pensioners and those with wages decreases not increases.
The pensioners in old peoples’ homes now complain that they were betrayed.
The Shipyards workers who were removed from their shipyard jobs are right to be angry because they feel they have been betrayed by the Government.
In both cases the EU is also to blame.
