The EU is built on treachery and simony

The European Union was built on the deceit of the masses of the people and the simony of their politicians.

As proof of this we have what happened for Malta to become a member in the Union and for the political parties to support what the Union decides.

An example of the method of how the Maltese people were deceived to vote in favour of the membership agreement negotiated between Malta and the European Union, is given to us by the thousands of hunters and trappers and their families.

They voted YES for the membership agreement because they were assured that hunting and trapping were going to continue to be practiced in Malta as a Union member.

Had they not been assured of this, thousands of hunters and trappers and their family members would not have voted YES in the 2003 Referendum.

It was so necessary that these vote YES to have a majority in favour of the agreement, that

in writing assured the hunters and trappers that an agreement had been reached with the Union for hunting and trapping to continue after membership.

And the European Union did not deny this not to upset upset the thousands of hunters and trappers and their families.

In the first three years after Malta became a member in the Union on 1 May 2003, the Union permitted Spring hunting and trapping.

When we went into the fourth year, the Union decided that the Maltese Government should not open Spring hunting.

It was useless for the hunters and trappers who rightfully insisted that they were given assurances prior to voting YES for the membership agreement.

Just the same the Union asked its Court to order the Maltese Government not to allow Spring hunting this year, notwithstanding that the Maltese Government insisted that it had an agreement with the Union for Spring hunting to continue.

That is why the consent of the thousands of hunters and trappers and of the members of their families for membership in the Union was stolen by deceit, and today the Union has annexed Malta by committing deceit and treachery on the Maltese and Gozitan hunters and trappers and on their families.

* And the Government submitted to it, notwithstanding that there is its honour and that of Malta in question.

* The politicians are won by the European Union by indulgences and favours that it showers on them.
* These politicians make their personal political interests overturn the interests of the masses of the people.

* That is why in Malta they are ready to sacrifice the hunters and trappers so that they will continue to advance.

Not members in the EU we would export just the same

There are no limits to the false things that they say to influence the people in favour of membership in the European Union.

In a conference that was held on First May they came out with the gross fib that had not our country become a member in the Union, the Union markets would have been closed to the products exported from Malta.

What was said about the denial of the importation of Maltese products by the European Union countries is not true.

The markets of the Union countries are open to importation from countries that are not in the Union.

If we take China, we find that this exports to the European Union with 160 billion (not millions) Ewros every year more than the Union exports to China.

Therefore, Malta outside the Union, can export to the Union similarly to China.

If Malta does not impose customs duty on products imported from the Union, the Union will not impose customs duty on products imported from Malta.

Therefore, out of or in the Union does not make a difference to our exports towards the Union.

If the European Union had to impose customs duty on products imported from Malta, our country would do the same and impose customs duty on products imported from the European Union.

Therefore, in case the Union imposes customs duty on Maltese products, Malta will impose customs duty on Union products and will have much more income than the Union would get from the customs duty imposed on Maltese products.

For the Maltese products exported to the Union to compete in the Union markets without the addition of customs duty that the Union can impose on them, our country would refund the Maltese exporters the customs duty that are paid in the Union, and this refund will be made by the greater amount that our country will have from the customs duty on products imported from the Union.

Thus the Maltese exporters can keep the same prices for their products without adding to them the customs duty that the Union can impose, if it does so.

Therefore it is not true what was said in the conference held on May First that if we were not members in the Union, we would not be able to export to the Union countries as we are doing today as Union members.

The fact that they feel that they have to stress to influence the people in favour of membership in the European Union by saying things that are not true uncovers tat they know that the people are not convinced that it is better for us to be in the Union.

On this they are not mistaken, because many are becoming aware that we shall lose nothing if we leave the Union, and we have more to lose if we stay in it.

The First of May and the European Union

In all the countries of the European Union the Workers Movements organize popular manifestations on the First of May.

For the wise men of our country these are simply useless walks and old concepts that we ought to do away with.

For these clever men, Workers Day is fitting to be observed with a half-day conference in a hall in a luxurious hotel.

We expect that when they are around the big European Union table, the Maltese wise men to chastise the Union countries for not celebrating like them the First of May with conferences in luxurious hotel halls.

We are certain that the reaction of the European leaders would be that they did not expect that among the Maltese people there are those who pose as wise people, but do not even know the meaning of the First of Mat to the Workers Movements around the world.

The European leaders are sure to teach the Maltese wise men that the popular manifestations of the First of May have more than one scope.

The first scope is to remind the workers that they need to be united and show solidarity to protect their rights and interests, because without unity and solidarity, they shall lose them, more and more today when the neo-liberal policy embraced by the European Union and globalization encouraged by it allow the market and profits to cause widespread damage to employment and the working conditions of the European workers.

There is also the scope that the popular manifestation of the First of May should serve so that the workers renew their will to stand to the Government not to adopt a policy that is damaging to the workers and their families, such as when it does not control the prices and the cost of living, and when it reduces the burden of taxes to those who can pay them, without helping more those who cannot keep up with the cost of living.

All the workers of the world acquired

This is an old concept, but at the same time is a concept that is still useful today, and will be useful tomorrow and in the future when the workers will suffer more bad effects of the neo-liberal policy of the European Union and globalization.

The biggest union in our country, the General Workers Union has long proposed a National Conference about the lack of decent employment in our country, but the wise among us insisted that work is not a problem in our country because work today runs after the workers.

But on the First of May this year the wise men became aware that there are work problems, and invited the political parties to hold a conference together about these problems, instead of the Workers Movement holding the popular manifestation in the streets of Valletta.

As if a conference about work cannot be held as well as the popular manifestation by the Workers Movement. One activity does not exclude the other.

But the truth is that they do not like the workers to remain united and show solidarity, and they want to do away with the Feast of the First of May that is held to continue to strengthen the workers unity and increase solidarity among them.

The European Union, Kosovo and Tibet

The European Union gave its help for Kosovo not to continue forming part of Serbia and become independent.

Serbia accused the Union that thus it is threatening the territorial integrity of the country by encouraging that part of it becomes separated.

But with China the Union is acting differently with how it acted with Serbia.

At the end of April the president of the European Commission, Josè Barroso, told the Chinese that the European Union supported the territorial integrity of China and that this support counts for Tibet.

This means that the Union is against the independence of Tibet, although it is in favour of that of Kosovo
