TELL YOUR PARLIAMENTARY DEPUTY THAT YOU WANT MALTA TO REGAIN INDEPENDENCE AND FREEDOM

In the seven years 2007 – 2014 the Maltese and Gozitans are going to pay the European Union €420,000,000

 It is better for us to leave the European Union

By Dr Karmenu Mifsud Bonnici Chairman CNI

We are frequently hearing people who voted in favour of Malta joining the European Union complaining that they had been taken for a ride because they had been told that it is better for Malta to become a Union member without anyone explaining to them its many bad aspects.

These are not only

* the workers and employees who have lost their employment

* due to the membership of our country in the Union,

* or who are threatened to lose their work,

* or who have suffered a reduction in their working conditions.

We hear these complaints

* from entrepreneurs,

* from traders,

* from shop owners,

* from self-employed persons and

* from housewives.

All these people are sorry because they are finding out how in the European Union there are things that are not only not good for us, but are even causing great damage to our country.

We assure these persons that we can correct the mistake that was made when the majority had voted in favour of membership in the Union.

We can correct the mistake by forming a majority that will want to take Malta out of the European Union and wants to conclude another agreement of partnership with Union countries.

We remind them in what is said that it is human to err, but that one will be diabolical to persist in one’s error.

If the majority had the power to make us members in the European Union, the majority has the power to take us out of it.

Once we understand that the Union policy is not good for us, we will be cowards if we continue to embrace that policy.

In the interest of the people

It is not in the interest of the Maltese people to say that once we have become members in the European Union, we should not work to leave it notwithstanding the damage it is causing us and the greater damage that it is going to cause us in the future.

We should not let the interests of the few that are going to benefit from the Union, overcome the interests of the mass of the people that are going to suffer due to member ship in the Union.

It is not in the interest of our people to be led according to what is decided by the Union foreigners and not according to what the people decide in the country’s general elections.

As members in the Union we are no longer in command in our own house.

It is those of the Union who commands us what to do and what not to do.

Our Prime Minister and Ministers have to do according to what the Union wants the to do, although they feign that they are managing according to what they decide.

Like puppets, who move according to how their strings are pulled.

Instead of true management, we have a puppet show managed from Brussels.

A sorrowful tragedy

Now this puppet show is not a laughable matter.

It is a sorrowful tragedy.

Because the people are not aware of how the nation that we have built with so many sacrifices is being dismantled bit by bit, and that its soul is being sold to the foreigner.

A people without a soul are not a nation.

A nation led buy foreigners is not free.

Without freedom from the foreigner, we are not independent.

With membership in the Union, we have lost our independence and freedom, and we have left our affairs in the hands of the foreigners.

We became a nation when our leaders cut us off from the foreigner’s breast milk and taught us how to live with our own work and minds.

Now they have again given us the foreigner’s breast and many are fighting to drink as much as possible from it instead of working as we have done before so that our country can feed all its children.

The few that have enough to satisfy themselves, are doing all that is possible my means of the media to make the mass of the people dizzy and make them believe that there is no better way than that of membership in the European Union to have a better life.

We went back again to the story of the slaves who felt better when their masters assured them of their living, rather than when they were set free but had to assure their living with their own initiative.

Until they understood that their honour as free human beings was greater than a full stomach but their will was not theirs.

Our destiny is not in our hands

We need to explain to the people that

* as long as we remain in the European Union

* we cannot change our economic policy by means of a democratic general election,

* we do not have the power to draft a commercial policy that will be of benefit for us, and

* neither do we have the power to operate a fiscal policy that is not as wanted by the Union.

These very important things apart from many others, have now, with membership of our country in the Union, become reserved matters for the Union.

We can say that we no longer command in our own house, or better, on that which has remained of our house.

* The biggest bank that we had has been taken away by foreigners.

The foreigners manage

* the Post,

* the Lotto,

* the Freeport,

* the Air Terminal,

* Air Malta.

They are agreeing for Maltacom to pass into the hands of Cable & Wireless, 30 years after we took it from them.

The foreigners have opened their business in our country and are killing the business of the Maltese people.

The foreigners can buy as much property as they want in Malta and the Maltese cannot match their prices.

Our homeland is not going to remain ours.

They have neither left us the power to allow and keep in our country those who do not take the Maltese peoples bread (work), and with the illegal immigrants we have to do as we are ordered by the European Union.

Our own destiny is no longer in our hands.

Our destiny will again be in our hands when we leave the European Union and we make an agreement as is beneficial for us with its countries.

If we have the will, we have the power to do so.
