WELCOME TO THE CNI WEBPAGE
CAMPAIGN FOR NATIONAL INDEPENDENCE

Was, is and shall remain in favour of Maltese workers
and against Malta's membership of the European Union
TELL YOUR PARLIAMENTARY DEPUTY THAT YOU WANT MALTA TO REGAIN INDEPENDENCE AND FREEDOM
The European Union ordered that in 2011 the Maltese and Gozitan people pay it €68,000,000
€186,000 daily stolen from your childrens mouths
The EU tramples upon Malta
It is not true that we cannot leave the European Union
See this European Parliament video that we can leave
The
European Union is treating badly the Maltese Prime Minister and the Ministers in
the meetings that they have in the European Council and the Council of
Ministers.
It
is denying them access to documents and information that are issued by
NATO, even when they regard European Union decisions and does not allow them to take
part in meetings where these documents and information are discussed.
This
bad treatment meted out to the Maltese Prime Minister and Ministers was discovered
in a statement issued by the Government on 20 March about the participation of
Malta in the
NATO military alliance Partnership for Peace (PfP).
The Government, instead of standing its ground and forcing the European Union to
treat them as befitting our country, submitted to the pressure and accepted to
make Malta a member of
NATO’s Partnership for Peace, as was wanted to by the
Union and the
United States of America.
He made sure these
were happy, but they betrayed the Maltese people because they did not honour the
oath that they took to protect and be loyal to our Constitution.
It is the Armed Forces of Malta (AFM) that are going to take part in the
activities of the Partnership for Peace, not members of the Civil Protection of
Malta.
Because
the Partnership for Peace is a military organization and its activities are
military operations.
It
is also an alliance of countries that have an agreement with
NATO and the last
one controls and leads the alliance.
Independently from the sort of activities that Maltese soldiers take part in,
the fact itself that our country is a member of
NATO’s Partnership for Peace
amounts to participation in a military alliance, against what is expressly
forbidden in the Constitution of Malta.
The European Union is to blame for the breach of the Constitution of Malta by
the Government, because it is causing obstacles for our country to participate
without any hindrance, totally and without conditions in the organs of the Union
if it does not take part in the
Partnership for Peace,
according to what the Government stated on 20 March.
The EU is not ready to give to the Government documents and confidential
information that are given to it by
NATO,
if Malta does not participate in the
Partnership for
Peace.
As
if Malta can be trusted only if it is a member in the
Partnership for Peace,
according to the
Union.
This attitude by the European Union is an insult to our country and dishonours
the Union and the Government that shamed our country’s honour when it
submitted to this treatment that trampled upon the integrity and seriousness of
our country.
Because
when the majority voted in favour of membership in the Union, they wanted to
mean full membership, not half membership because we were not in the
Partnership
for Peace.
The European did not make it a condition for full membership that we become
members in the
Partnership for Peace,
which was never mentioned anywhere in the Referendum campaign.
We have REMEMBERED, not celebrated Freedom Day, 31 March, 1979, because we have lost our freedom when we became members in the European Union.
We
shall celebrate it again when we leave from under the EU yoke.
Before Malta acquired full autonomy from the British rule many important sectors
were considered to be “reserved matters” under the control of London and the
Maltese Government did not have any power over them.
After
our country became a member in the European Union, many important sectors passed
from under the control of the Maltese Government to the Union.
Our country fell back to the situation of many “reserved matters” that the
Government of Malta does not have any power over them because they are under the
control of Brussels.
In
these sectors Malta has lost its sovereignty that passed on to the European
Union.
This means that the Maltese people do no longer have control in all the sectors that were ceded to the EU in the membership agreement.
In
them, the Maltese people do not command, but are commanded by the EU.
That is why the Maltese people are no longer free because in all these sectors
they are dependent on the Union foreigners.
The independence of a country is either total or the country is not independent
at all.
The freedom of a country is either total or the country is not free at all.
That is
why our country has lost its independence and Freedom, because in many sectors
it is the Union that commands and not the Maltese Government.
It is a great shame that we have amongst us those who are happy and contented
that we are led by the EU and not by the Maltese Government.
And
the shame is greater of those politicians who are always ready to do what the
Union tells them to do, notwithstanding that this is not in the best interests
of our people.
They do not have that moral fibre to stand up to the Union and tell it that they
are not going to obey it where the interests of the Union do not converge with
those of the Maltese people.
It is precisely this which is the worst of the membership agreement in the Union
that we made five years ago.
That we ceded to the Union the Independence and Freedom of our country for the promise of funds that the Union gives us.
We exchanged the liberty of the people with the Union funds, when liberty has no price.
Because
it is better not to have any riches but be free, than having riches but be
ruled.
The greatest damage that membership in the European Union made was to youths
It weakened their values and deadened their noble enthusiasm to work for their country and to serve their people, and instead made them egoists and only care for their personal enjoyment.
They do not feel that they are Maltese citizens, only that they are proud to be European.
They do not realize that the greatest force against the EU and its policy are the youths of the Union countries, who frequently rebel against the social injustices that erode the Union people.
Five years ago, on 8 March 2003, a small majority said yes to the membership agreement in the European Union negotiated by the Maltese Government.
At the time the majority approved membership of our country in the Union as it was with the rules made by the various treaties that the Union made during the 46 years since it was set up in 1957.
If the majority would have agreed with membership should the Union rules have been different from those in 2003 cannot be said.
But now with the Lisbon Treaty the rules of the European Union are being
changed.
We
do not have the right to say that the majority would have just the same approved
that our country becomes a member in the EU made according to the new rules of
the Treaty of Lisbon.
We do not have the right to assume thus, more so when no one explained correctly
what are the new rules made by the Lisbon Treaty.
The representatives of the people in Parliament greatly abused the people when
they assumed that they have the people’s mandate to approve the new EU rules
made by the Lisbon Treaty, without having never spoken with the people about the
new Union rules and without verifying whether the majority wanted to continue
with the membership agreement in a union which that was changing its rules.
There is no doubt that in the new circumstances created with the changing of the
Union rules was dutiful in a democratic country that the people be asked whether
they approve to remain members in the EU with the new rules changed by the
Lisbon Treaty.
This is demanded by the respect for the will of the people from those who practice democracy, not boasting about it, but with their action they trample upon it.
The European Union itself should, had it been a democratic institution, insisted with its member countries to try to establish the will of the people about the new Union rules introduced by the Lisbon Treaty.
Instead
of doing as demanded by democracy, the Union was afraid that the people in many
member countries would not agree to the new rules of the Lisbon Treaty.
This EU action has ripped its hypocrisy mask and uncovered how undemocratic it
is and how it does not respect the will of the people where this is not in
agreement with its will.
Thus the democratic deficit in the Union has increased and its popular support decreased… and decreased greatly.
All
the boasting and great propaganda of all those who boarded the EU gravy train by
thinking of their personal interests is not going to stop the popular opposition
to the EU from continuing to spread.
The more time that passes the clearer it becomes that the EU is only an
artificial creation of the politicians, not a natural offspring of the people of
Europe.
We
congratulate
We
congratulate the
Graffitti youths who protested against the
Partnership for
Peace (PfP)
and
Żmienijietna who condemned Malta’s participation in this
NATO alliance.
